Brooklyn. 1880 US Census for Brooklyn, Kings, NY lists Peter Nostrand, 50, milk dealer, with wife, Sarah, 43, and son, Everett, 20, clerk in store, and son, John, 18, clerk in store. Also in this household are Jennie Weeks, 27, boarder, and Rebecca Van Wicklen, 67, mother-in-law. (Abram was deceased by this time.) 1880: 547 Willoughby Ave., Brooklyn - Jacob 45, Mary A 41, William H. 18, Fulk A 14, Edward 10. Brooklyn Eagle, 24 Dec 1889, Page 3 - Died. Van Wicklen -- Suddenly, Sunday, December 22, Rebecca, wife of the late Abram Van Wicklen, in her 76th year. Funeral service at the residence of her son in law, 381 Union street, Tuesday evening, December 24th, at 7PM. Interment private. (Rebecca had been living in the household of her son-in-law, Peter, at the time of the 1880 US Census and perhaps since the time of her husband's death in 1873.) |
